How To Become a Referee

If you're looking to referee or run the line for competitive soccer in Windsor & Essex County then you've come to the right place. There are steps to take in order to officiate games and they are described here.

1) New to Officiating? Take an OSA training clinic: Clinics for the upcomming season are usually held between January and April. The dates will become available online here when they are approved (seach by district of Essex for local clinics). Check back regularly since new courses are added all the time then just follow the link for the on-line registration once you find a suitable clinic. You must be 13 years of age as of April 1st to be eligible.

2) Register on refcentre.com The fee is $32 if you're 14 or 15 years old, $47 if you're 16 or 17 years old, and $90 if you're 18 or older (2015 prices). All Ontario referees must be registered with the Ontario Soccer Association (OSA) in order to do games under their jurisdiction (which is virtually all competitive games in Windsor) and this is done on refcentre.
Beware, there is a $15 late fee for provincial registrations processed after March 31st. For up-to-date information on the province's prices and requirements you can visit their website here.

3) Accept game offers: Games will be appointed through the refcentre system and offered to you through email. If you do not receive any game offers through your Email within the first week of the season then there is something wrong and you should contact us to help rectify the problem.
